what towns do .....

The functions of town centres as shopping destinations are of great importance, socially, economically, and physically. They form a central function for urban areas, in spatial terms, and physically provide an important part of the urban fabric.

The shopping areas tend to be located in the heart of towns and cities, providing a convenient central destination for the consumer.

The more successful towns provide easy access by car, trains and buses.
